Angels, i know no one talks about thm, but thy have a great rotation. young jered weaver is 5-0 wit a 1.35 ERA and hes won all 5 games hes pitched in. John Lackey is 7-5 with a 2.88 ERA and 97 strikeouts. Bartolo Colon just came back from his injury and is startin to pitch well. Ervin Santana is a great up and coming star. and kelvim escobar is a solid 4th or 5th starter. thy have the hands down best pitching staff, the only thing tht is keeping thm from winning more games as a team, is their hitting cuz their pitching has certainly been nothing short of awesome.

This question's answer is quite obvious and not very arguable: The Detriot Tigers. Kenny Rogers, an old horse still with great talent leads the bunch with an 11-3 record and a 3.85 ERA/1.19 WHIP. Bonderman and Robertson are both promising young hurlers with a combined 16-8 record, 3.35 and 3.46 ERA's, respectably. And then there are the two hyperyoung starters of Justin Verlander (a possible Rookie of the Year contender), who has a 10-4 record with an almost sub-3 ERA, and Zach Miner, with a 5-1 record and a 2.68 ERA/1.22 WHIP. Miner in 6 starts has never let up more than 3 ER. The Tigers have the lowest ERA in the bigs at 3.49, and although they have had closer problems, also lead the MLB in saves. This problem is solved.

It would be tough to argue against the starting 5 of the Chicago White Sox.

Mark Buehrle =
9-6 4.02 ERA

Jose Contreras =
9-0 3.31 ERA

Freddy Garcia =
10-5 4.72 ERA

Jon Garland =
8-3 5.30 ERA

Javier Vazquez =
9-4 5.15 ERA

i would say the twins have the best top of the rotation (liriano and santana), but for depth from starters 1 through 5, it would have to be the angels, now that they've gotten rid of jeff weaver.

bartolo colon is the reigning al cy young, and he's back on track after his early season injury.

kelvim escobar is probably the worst of the bunch, and he's done fairly well this year.

john lackey is dominant (look at last night's 1-hitter vs. oakland).

ervin santana can be dominant and is young enough to still have a high ceiling.

and jered weaver is 5-0 in 5 big league starts. he's much MUCH better than his brother, and at current is probably the best 5th starter on any rotation.

This is tough to answer. Both Chicago and Detroit play in the worst division in baseball. Minn, Clev, and KC all stunk up the joint when they played both teams earlier this season. I think both of those teams starters have inflated nuimbers because of it. I do not know any team that would not want to pitch against KC 19 times a year. When healthy, I tink that Toronto has the best overall starters, but any of the teams listed could win a 7 games series against any other if their pitchers/batters are hot.

The Tigers are strong - best record in baseball. 2 or 3 young guns and Kenny Rogers who is resurgent in Detroit. The White Sox are strong but when they are off they are really off. Minnesota is young.

I'd go for Oakland or Chicago white sox..

OAKLAND: esteban loaiza, barry zito, joe blanton, dan haren and kirk saarloos

CHI SOX : Freddy garcia, Jose contreras, Jon Garland, Javier Vazquez, Mark Buehrle

these are my two favourites i think chi sox have the upper hand!

I like Minnesota's. With the lefty combination of Santana and Liriano, The Twins have had much success in the pitching department.
