Mandarin, or Cantonese (the major languages of the Chinese people) sounds totally alien and confusing to Western ears even at a calm, conversational rate of speech.

Imagine how confusing and senseless it would sound when a bunch of Chinese firemen are frantically fighting a big building fire, shouting orders back and forth in their native language!

That name has come to be applied to a game in which a car stops at a red light, all of the passengers get out (the more passengers, the better), and they sit down again in different seats before the light turns green.
