Okay, I think its been pretty well established that he´s mighty pissed off about living in a gottd@mn trashcan, and I mean I can see why - I think that would TOTALLY ruin your chances for any hook-up action, and I think we all know that´ll DEFINITELY put a damper on your social skills, yo. So, yeah, said trashy dwelling is the tangible reason, but the underlying problem is the pronounced sexual draught that poor Oscar has been enduring for lo all these years. And lets face it, Bert and Ernie are no help - I mean, the guy lives in a trashcan, sure, but I just don`t feel that Oscar gets down like those two, if you get me. Big Bird is a total douchebagg, Cookie Monster is too busy stuffing his piehole with Double Stuff, Gonzo is a retard... no, the "Street" crowd is just not up to help aleviate ol Oscar´s suffering. I think the best bet would be for Oscar to go out for a night on the town with Animal from the muppets - he`s a crazy hairy drummer who stays lit up like x-mas tree, so you know the guy is all about some party action, and certainly has some muppet trim lined up who wouldn´t even mind taking a turn with a guy who smells like garbage. So yeah, someone needs to network those two, like pronto...

How would you like it if some Great Big Yellow bird was menacing you every day, wondering why the Sky was blue, what Snufflupagus was up to, or trying to find his missing nest. That, and the fact that there are always little kids singing number songs, on the steps nearby.

I'd be pretty p.o.'d if I had to live in a trash can too. Plus, I don't think he had a job either, so being broke all the time could've put him in a crappy mood. I don't think he had a girlfriend either. Probably because he didn't have a job and lived in a trash can.
No place to live, no money, no woman=one irritable green monster.

Dude try living in your newly decorated home , and then rude people just keep on throwing their garbage in your sweet upscale home hell yeah I would by grouchy.

Its because he came from Grouchland USA, where everyone is mean and nasty and the place is absolutely disgusting ("the streets are paved in solid mold"). It's what he grew up with. I guess he's an example of how society and upbringing affects the person later in life.
