Why is everyones answer to an A/C question always, "your A/C is low on Freon". First off, its not Freon, its refrigerant and there are numerous reasons for there to be hot air coming out of your ducts.
Dependind on what kind of thermostat you have, you can put the fan switch into "on" and "auto" position, if you put it into on and the fan comes on then that is normal to blow hot air, the compressor is not running at that time. If you put the fan switch into Auto, lower the temp setting to force the compressor to turn on and wait a few mins you should feel cool air coming out of the supply duct. Try and be more specific with your question. What position is your thermostat in? Is the condensing unit running? Provide as much info as possible.

This is a confusing question. If the fan does not work how can it "throw" out hot air. If a freon type unit then the compressor is not working or the refrigerant level has leaked out and needs to be profesionally repaired, as they have the right tools, equipment and knowledge to repair.

if it is the unit outside, you likely have a bad motor, or capacitor. if it is the indoor fan throwing hot air, you have a heat pump system and your reversing valve is not shifting and causing the unit to stay in heat mode.

First I would check to make sure all your filters are clean. If they are, then you have to call someone. We had the same problem and couldn't fix without help.
