Aha, this is one of my favorite things. There was a great burning software called, DVDShrink and it was available at afterdawn.com. You can also you DVDFab. Mind you these are programs that allow you to backup, copyright protected dvds. Good luck on finding DVDShrink because I think the MPAA was successful of not making it available in the US. That software could break the encryption codes on a lot of DVD (although the MPAA got smarter and started using better encryption, but there is ALWAYS a way to decrypt anything). For non-copyrighted protected DVDs (like your own project), Roxio has a pretty good program for making DVDs look professional, with professional looking fades from scene to scene. NERO only burns the DVD, if it is copyrighted, NERO will not work. Go to the website, afterdawn.com. type in dvdshrink and download it. You will need NERO as DVDshrink and Nero works very well hand in hand. What DVDShrink allows you to do is fit a movie onto a single DVD with all of the extra feature. It shrinks the video aspect of it from, for example, 100 percent to 57%. It will also give you the choice of whether you want to keep some of those extra features such as foreign languages, DTS, Surround sound 5.1, etc. Anything you click off of, increase the video quality. But don't worry about the video quality so much, because it is all good 47% and higher. Basically a film DVD has 7-8 Gigs of info on it and you are putting it onto a 4.7GB DVD. Oh and DVD shrink is free.

DEFINATELY go for Roxio Easy Media Creator 8.5. Take the time to learn and practice the software and expect to burn a few DVD's that might not work due to error.
Whatever you use to burn, be sure to 'close the disc' so that your burned DVD will work in DVD players other than PC's!

http://www.dvdidle.com/index.htm I use dvdfab platinum, and also use Nero. But only for backup purposes, even though even making backups is apparently illegal.
I recommend a lite-on dvd burner too, I have both an internal (16x dual layer)and an older external (8x single layer). Not a single problem with either one.

Yes you do. Generally, it comes with the purchase of a DVD burner.
This is a link to a forum for DVD burners, there is a freebie listed in it
