i am an alternative medicinal therapist and an ex nurse and i have taken Black Cohosh for 10 years and many other herbal remedies. I give my patients these remedies and I haven't lost one yet. It's the safest form of medicine you can take if taken sensibly. It's the orthodox medicine that's unsafe. I won't touch antibiotics they damage the immune system,Garlic is the worlds most powerful antibiotic. HRT is now known to cause breast and uterine cancer, the equivalent is Black Coshosh plus a few others.
Herbal medicine just takes a bit longer to work. I have recently visited the island of Dominica (Caribbean) whilst there I went to a rain forest where a plant grows that will cure AIDS, a German company is going to manufacture it. The Caribs, (locals) live on herbs there are over 300 herbs on this island that is used for cooking and for medicinal purposes. The island is protected by The World Heritage Foundation, of which i am a member. So the answer to your question is YES they are safe.
If you need a list of basic herbs for various illnesses let me know.

Yes! I was taking the recommended dose and I felt as though I had a million insects crawling over me. I was just itching all over, it was unbearable. I had to stop taking them and it took 2 weeks for the itching to stop.

Don't know about 'taking' it, but where I live most of the kids 'talk' it.

Causes me no end of problems.

Has caused the kids a few in the past too.
