I'm thinking about buying a new dirt bike from a dealer. Is there an additional cost to prep it for riding? or would it be ready to ride right off the floor.

no you can ride it right off the floor for about one time to break it in, then you got to have some grease to grease the axels, swingarms, and shock linkages and torque the bolts so they dont fall off when you are riding and you kill yourself, check your owners manuel for the specs.

IMPORTANT: you have to check your air pressure and spokes before you ride, you should have your air set at around 11-13 pounds depending on which terrain you are riding. Your spokes should be nice and snug but dont over tighten them, they will loosen really easily so check them frequently, i request that you get a spoke torque wrench from fasstco.com or fastco.com or whichever one it is, it is one of the best tools I have.

They add an additional charge for shipping, assembly and dealer prep.
Just another way to get extra money from you.
