Why were the 3 men fighting over the chest in PiratesOTC 2? Jack didn't seem to want to kill Davy Jones! Why?

I did not understand this part. Will wanted to kill Davy Jones to set his father free. Jack didn't for some reason!!! Why????? Oh and who was this commodore guy?

And can anybody explain that dice game the guys played? It made no sense! They were like, 4 5's. Seven 5's! oooooooh uh oh. Then the guy said 12 5's and everybody was like WHOAAAAAAAAAA! What on earth were they talking about?

I understood that four 5's meant they expected to have four dice with the number five showing, but how on earth would they know that? And why on earth was it all about 5's, and that the more fives the crazier people thought it was???

Kristen nailed it on the head. And the commodore was the guy who wanted to marry Elizabeth in the 1st film.

Now granted, the dice game confused me at first, but I think I've got it now. By saying 4 5's they meant that when they lifted the cups there would be 4 dice showing the number 5 and so on and so on.

I'll check that scene out again *seeing it again tonight :D*

Jack didn't b/c he want to trade davy the chest for jacks life. B/c earlier in the movie davy said that jack had been captain of the black pearl for 13 years. and that was the deal. and jack was supposed to become one of davy's sea creatures.
