the effect is whatever the fashion dictates it to be. Human beings have been physiologically very similar over time. however, our tastes and preferences for many things have changed dramatically from generation to generation. this means human beings are very easily influenced even so far as our own tastes which seem personnal to us. our preferences are somehow dictated from outside influences. we should hope fashion leads us well. i don't think popular hip hop is well on it's way for that, nor the support for greed and violence in current fashion. the trouble is, how do you shape fashion? it is not under the control of anybody. there is nobody working shaping fashion to what is in our best interest. and if there was this would be the most powerful person in the world bar none.

I'm an optimist, so according to me, it makes it easier for you to relate to the world over.. but at the same time, you do not lose your values.. So kind of balances you as a person..

Don't blame west for India's misfortunes...West at least takes responsibility for its state.
Blame people's failure to control politicians...blame people who do not vote...people who vote only as their religous leaders say...blame India's own lack of self esteem...in everything from movies to macroeconomics...
BTW, I am an Indian too...
