Depending upon the job, it could be. If you want to be a finanical professional (investment representative) then yes, you will need to have a college degree (BA, BS, Etc...). If you want to be a administrative assistant somewhere, no a HS Diploma will do just fine.

First...let me start by asking why Edward Jones? Second...you like many others have a misconception that they'll merely invest in you...not correct. They usually require you to have what's called in the jargon a BOOK...the book is clients that have been productive in terms of commissions for you already. In other words you'll need to work for Dean Witter, Merrill Lynch or some other major firm first to develop a clientele that you can than try to take with you as an independent with Edward Jones.
So far as education goes I can't empahsize enough the value of having a degree. With respect to weather the firms we've been mentioning require one to be hired...it's doubtful cause all brokers are glorified salesmen/ladies.

no. nearly ever place like that will need at least an associates or bachelors. it proves that you at least have ahd some education and are "smart" enough for the work.
