You mean, like wearing Hollister clothes and surfer-style clothing? Or just baring a lot of skin? Either way, it's the current fad. It'll go away in time, and when that time comes, I'm sure most of us will conform to society's standards of fashion then, and stop dressing the way we dress now.
Also, we are MODEST compared to the stuff people wore in the '60s and '70s (especially the '70s)!

No disrespect intended either, but why do so many young black males wear baggy pants that they have to hold up with one hand or either let fall and show their underwear or their *** if they don't have underwear on? Who thinks that looks good? And the long ball team shirts? I thought this was out of style now, but apparently not.
I don't dress like I am at the beach, because I hate hot weather and stay inside in the air conditioning. I guess a lot of people dress that way to stay cool (because of hot weather) or they like to wear what everyone else is wearing. I really don't know, if white people dress like they are going to the beach, then how does everyone else dress? Tell me, because I really haven't noticed and I am curious. Thanks!

Personally, I dress for comfort and convenience. If I dressed like I do at the beach, I wouldn't wear anything!
I wish more black women would dress as if they were at the beach. They have the most beautiful bodies - much better than white women!

With all do respect, because" WE" dress like we just got out of prison. Pull your pants up- Don't be surprised if self esteem goes up to.... What's wrong with dressing like you're at the beach? It's summer...

If you are referring to shorts and a t-shirt... it's probably a comfort thing that takes place outside a professional enviornment. Let me pose a similar quesiton to you:
Why is it that when the situation calls for formal etire my black brothers and sisters come dressed like they are about to play pick up game of hoops???

B/c, would you rather us to dress like someone or some "race" that we are not. I'm white, and I make ever effort to not act black b/c I am not black, as it should work both ways, a black guy shouldn't dress/act like a white guy.

I don't dress like I'm at the beach. I don't like the beach.

Because our current popular culture is heavily influenced by television and movies. Because they have lost their roots and moral compass and most don't know any better.
Not everybody dresses like that, go to a conservative church & you will find different.

I dress for comfort and convenience. I pay very little attention to what others think because I am my own person.
