People who criticise others readily usually are afraid to really look at their own lives because they won't be able to cope with what they see.
Or have so little to occupy their lives other's lives seem so much more interesting. It is such a sense of freedom to no longer care what someone says about you. Trust yourself to be the judge of your own behaviour and remember those who care don't matter, those who matter won't care.

Usually these people don't want to see or deal with their own issues so they get into others.This action takes up their time and criticize so again they don't have to look at their own messed up life's.

Because they've nothing better to do than interfere!!! However, constructive criticism (if we take heed) makes us better people! It's entirely up to you to make the distinction between the two!

Because we are nosy and it is easier to make other people feel small than it is to look at our own problems and deal with them. We like to think that we are superior to others.

I was reading a book about that..it's called the four agreements, it says that people that are unhappy sometimes just want others to be unhappy to feel better...
