if it happened for the first time right after a gasoline fill-up could be bad gas with water in it

Running too rich on fuel. Bad cylinder head. Leak in the exuast system. It could also be timing.

sounds like a fuel issue. can't say for sure or give more information without more information.

don't buy that gas anymore.

Timing! Have the timing adjusted, and have the car tuned up.

sounds more like a vacuum leak on non ported vacuum
