It happened when I was in the 7th grade.
On the school bus ride home from school a teenage girl ran out into the street and was hit by a car. she was thrown into the air and landed in front of our school bus and the bus ran over her head.
It was definitely the most horrible thing I had ever seen.

Why talk about scenes on TV. They are all contrived and can be produced good or bad as required. I would rather narrate an actual incident. While I was travelling by a local train during rush hours a young man was standing in the door along with others(these doors are always open not like the doors of Delhi Metro which are automatically closed). While the train was passing over a bridge he somehow lost his grip and fell headlong below. The train did not stop nor anybody pullled the chain. I was shocked to see that the immediate reaction of the travellers-who were most office-goers-was that if the train were to stopped they would late for the office. As I was a novice I could not do anything.Subsequently I learnt from the papers that the young man succumbed to the steep fall. He was found on three days from the bushes and there were indications that he had died just a few minitues before. The news further added that the boy was the only son of his parents.Such accidents are rather frequent due to overcrowding and the nerves of the commuters are almost dead.

In real life? I watched a kid in my 7th-grade wood shop class lose the tops of 3 fingers on his right hand in a planer. He screamed louder than I've ever heard before or since.
I've also witnessed a dead person being embalmed at a friend's funeral parlor; that was pretty morbid.
On TV? The planes hitting the WTC towers on 9/11/01. Thinking of all those people dying for no good reason...

i would have to say is movies about the holocaust. it portrayed evil and brutalness of the way the jews suffered. i cried and wished it away, but just to know that this already happened and many, many jews have experienced this type of pain before they passed away. that night, after watching OUT OF THE ASHES, i was up thinking and crying. I could not sleep even though I was extremely tired. My mind replayed the scenes as I thought about the Jews and their suffering. It was so brutal, the thoughts of them have not even left today. The worst part is, a lot of people in iraq are suffering this way as well. We live everyday, getting up, going to school, hanging out with friends, while they suffer so much pain.

Both in real life: I saw some hillbilly in shoprite beating her kid. I said something, and got into a HUGE fight with her. She was yelling, I was yelling, her kid was crying from being beaten. Horrible.
Another time, I saw a rabbit get hit by an 18 wheeler. It popped. I was with my friend, and we found what I think was it's heart about 20 feet away, trailed by a blood splatter. Blood splattered EVERYWHERE and only a gory smear was left on the road. It still haunts my memories.

I had witnessed 3 dead bodies on different occasion while travelling in electric train.
One of them was on a festival day here in India something like brother sister day wherein sister ties a holy thread on brother's wrist and prays for her brother's long life and well being. I witnessed a dead body of a young man hanging from the roof of the electric train. The young man was probably sitting on the roof of the train and had got electrocuted.

I woke up at a party to see my girlfriend of the time being raped by one of my good friends. If I had only woke up a few seconds earlier :( I felt guilty for years for what i did to him after that and the fact that I didn't protect her. It messed her entire life up after that.I would have killled him in a terrible way had she not stopped me. She did say that I saved her in the way I helped her to cope with it after that though, so i feel better about that. But I've never seen anything so horrible as the look on her face in that moment and everytime we were in the dark after that or around him. The anger still builds in me everytime I think about it.

9/11 I was visiting my friend who actually worked in the twin towers but missed work that day because of me. We were at a bagel shop when the first plane hit.
