A top salesman is someone who is able to explain the benefits of a product or service with integrity and conviction.

Integrity allows the salesman to live with himself and not burn out due to a guilty conscience or degrade his soul by becoming callous to the consequences of deception. Therefore, the salesman is able to continue his profession longer and develop a reputation for honesty that provides for repeat business and referrals.

Conviction allows the salesman to convey the value of a product or service with credibility and influence, giving the prospective buyer a reason to want the product or service.

Your telephone manner, being a great listener, clothing you wear on the job and the way you speak to people. Smile too and don't be phony and make the person feel you're a liar just like a typical car salesman does.

Have good product knowledge. Be well-prepared to meet your clients or customers. Dress smartly & watch your manners. Present yourself well to leave them a good impression fo you. Speak politely & with confidence. Watch your words, diction & body-language. Have eye-contact while communicating with them. Ask questions to establish better understanding of their needs, and be a good listener. Identify hints during conversation and touch only on what they are really interested in. Never argue with them no matter how but negotiate a win-win solution instead. Always offer to help and provide an alternative if met with difficulty to come to an agreement. Find out from them what is hindering their decision and see if it can be compromised. Seek assistance and support from your superior to work out a solution to clear the hindrance. Get back to them without delay before it's too late. Time is a crucial factor in business and it may costs you a big deal! Just a small sharing from my experience while running my own conventional business more than a decade ago.

Good Luck to you and wishing you....All the best!!!

Top salesmen usually will tell you anything and promise you anything just to get you to buy their product. I lost faith in sales a long time ago. I have done sales in the past and I know it's too cutthroat for me, I wouldn't manipulate people and therefore I didn't sell as much as the top rollers. You have to make a choice at some point in sales, what you are okay with doing. It's a rough field and it's not for everyone.

Well first it would help if your grammar was flawless. You must be willing to use the phone at all times. Helps to have excellent had writing and listening skills.

The most important thing though is to sell an item you believe in. The most successful salespeople always do this, or possibly lie.

In classical business like selling cars or washmachines: give the client the feeling, that one of your products has the best price/perfomance ratio and he can afford this one.

In networkmarketing like Herbalife, Amway, Oriflame: I look good and feel good from my products; do you also want these products and make good money out of them?

build rapport, ask questions to define their needs and uncover needs they don't know they have, use vivid language to describe the benefits, and don't take no as an answer- probe for more information and give more personalized benefits.
