Well we all have the right to reproduce but l personally do find a 62 yr old mother too old. The chances are the parents are going to be dead or too frail to take care of the kid in 10 years time. Bringing up a child is hard work and takes a lot out of a young person let alone pensioners.

I think it is wrong. I also think it is wrong for anyone to have a child. I have three, I must have been wrong too. Afterall, I have a disability. The older mom will probably be around longer than me. Anybody can die at any time. Period. A 16 year old mother could have a heart attack at 18 and die. A 22 year old set of parents could drive to the store and die.
I knwo for a fact that the baby will have an awesome set of GodParents waiting in the wings. The child will also be set for life since the parents will have thought about that, unlike younger parents who don't have crap to pass on yet.
In all honesty, I do not think it is my business to decide if it is right or wrong. The baby is already here!

Wrong definitely. My sister had a baby when she was about 40 and her little girl went through a stage when she was embarrassed for her Mum to pick her up from school because she was so much older than the other parents.Sad.

Selfish buggers, they are too old to be parents to this child, they won't have the energy, and soon they will likely both have lots of age-related health problems, which will be a source of worry to their child. To them a child is just a must-have item, it obviously doesn't concern them that their child may well be orphaned while very young.

I don't think it's anyone's business but theirs. The child has plenty of older siblings, so it won't be in a care home. Plenty of men have fathered children at that age without any uproar, so clearly the issue is about the mother's age, not the father's.

I think that it is their business. I do know that that child will have all the love that a child could have. I'm 62 and I've adopted one of my grandchildren, does that mean I'm wrong? He's 10 and we've had him since he was 5.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with reproducing at any change if it is still possible. These parents want an heir to carry on the family name and it does not matter if they will be around or not..this child will carry on the family tradition. As long as he knows his parents, meets them and gets to know them, there is no age limit for love.

People's parents could die at any time.
Personally, I wouldn't like to have a child at that age, but if they are fit and can provide for it, who am I to tell someone else what to do?
The main thing is that it is a wanted and planned for child, which sadly too many these days are not.

Wrong, I think they are just having a child so they have someone too look after them in their old age.
