Depends how much cat urine you have, fabreez is only good for 2-3 days, try a product called Odor Ban, Sherwin Williams should sell it as well as Sam's Club. If the wood the carpet is attached to is wet with urine, replace it, nothing will treat that. When using the Odor Ban, spray heavy on both sides of the carpet and both sides of the pad, you may have to do that 2-3 times, but it will work.

If you don't get to it pretty quick you are probably going to be out of luck. But when it happens , blot up excess and pour undiluted orange pinesol type cleaner (generic brands work great--the Dollar Store carries one) all over the spot--be generous with it. It must be orange. Leave it sit for a few minutes then scrub with a scrub brush till foamy, blot again, then shampoo out as normal. Vinegar will work to mask the smell from you but generally kitty still can pick up the scent and so there may be a repeat performance.

We used Febreze Laundry Freshener straight out of the bottle (not the spray stuff, the liquid laundry stuff) , let it sit for 10 minutes and rinsed with clear water.
It worked great for us!
Good Luck!
