Basically it has something to do with a character called Little Slugger. He goes around attacking people. But if you notice, it's only people that are going through a crisis relating to work, school, family, etc. And the girl (the one that created maromi) has something to do with the incidents involving Little Slugger. I hope that helps.

Every episode deals with a character going through a personal crisis. Guilt, obsession, worries, and over bearing responsibility makes them crack just like the rest of us. However, Lil' Slugger is there and attacks them, making them basically starting over again. All those doubts are gone and they are happy for it. All the while the cops are trying to catch Lil' Slugger and question why he always seems to attack those that need his particular help. At the same time, the person who got attacked first was also the one who created the Japanese equivalent of Mickey Mouse, aka, the cruth that people rely on while not actually helping them get over their fears and doubts.

There is about 20 pages more of important plot points and revelations, but that will just ruin it for you. I will say that every epsiode is a must, and I would also reccomend you try to watch them in order. Every episode works great as a stand alone story, but you would miss the story behind everything that makes the series truly great.

Paranoia Agent is a really great show if you can stay with it. My personal advice is to rent it. Don't wait for [AS] to show all of it. I mean, it's 26 episodes long. The ending is really simple when you finally get an explanation as to what really happened, and it definitely IS a psychological thriller. Kind of like Serial Experiments Lain on steroids. :D And btw, if an explanation of the story would totally ruin the ending for you, so like I said, rent it so you can dispense with the wait.

What i understand was the Lil' Slugger was the Manifestation of a pet dog of Tsukiko Sagi that died when it got hit by a car or something like that. Lil' Slugger only attacks people who are overwhelmed or stressed out you know going through some kind of problem but when he attacks them he helps them out. They turn out better for it. but everytime he does that he becomes more demonic and evil. I thought it was kind of weird at first but after that it was pretty good.

It's cool, but it's a show you should watch from the beginning.
