what you think is dumb may not be dumb to the asker. just have fun with it, that's what i do. why ask why just collect your 2pts and move on to the next one.

This is also a dumb question, it is just cloaked in wannabe intelligence.
Why do people ask dumb questions? Why did you just ask a dumb question?
1. The person doesn't know it's dumb
2. You are dumb and that's how you see the question.
3. They are miserably failing in their attempt to be funny.
4. Who gives a shi/t. You are not required to answer every single question that you see.
5. They have issues.

because these people think that they are not dumb, a dumb person does not agree he or she is dumb, likewise, if a person thinks that he or she is dumb, he or she will never ask a dumb question.

Probably for new material.
Have you ever of snappy answers to stupid questions? (Or something like that anyway.) These are books that will ask a stupid question, then give three answers then give you space to insert one yourself. Kind of like below.
A. For something to do
B. My wife (husband) is not here.
C. Because I want to see the stupid answers.
D. Insert your own answer here.
That was just an example.
Seriously, though, I think it is just to see who will respond and what kind of response they would get.
