I've noticed that women spend a lot of money on shoes. Why is that? I have 1 pair of sneakers, 1 pair of work boots, water shoes, and sandles. I walk into my girlfriend's room and right off the bat I count 6.5 pairs of shoes.... with more in the closet.....

Most of these answers are really dramatic. Atleast in comparison to my situation. You know, you buy new work pants, realize they look really weird with your usual work shoes, so you buy new shoes...or you realize that you wear a lot more brown than black, and certain brown and black accesories look strange together so buy some brown shoes. Or, get this. It gets cold outside so you buy some shoes to keep things toasty. Or you have somewhere nice to go and flipflips won't do so you gotta make a trip to the mall. And everyonce in a while, you're window shopping, and you see a really nice pair of shoes. You know you don't need them, but you think about them for weeks. Then all of a sudden they go on sale. So you go ahead and make it a present to yourself.

you think 6 pairs of shoes is alot? LOL. She hardly has any compared to some women.
10, 20 or more pairs is pretty common. Some women just like shoes I guess.

I'm a girl, and I feel your pain, living in valley girl "Like, oh my god! I like, so need that pair of shoes!" country. I only have one pair of hiking shoes, one pair of formal shoes, and one pair of flip flops. There is no need for it, you've only got one pair of feet right?

Maybe it's because they like the way the colors match their eyes or that stuff. Maybe they want variety, but who cares? I never bought into the whole shopping birthright (or much else) being a girl has to offer. Maybe they like spending money to stop thinking about their problems ("I'm like so depressed. I *need* to go shopping"), which only creates more problems...

Well Im guilty of that charge. I do have a lot of shoes. The only explanation I can give you is that I need a pair of shoes for different outfits...going out formal, going out partying, staying home comfy, jogging....all different occasions

Why do men need so many damn women?

But seriously, I like shoes because they are truly a personal style statement. And contrary to popular belief, sneakers do not go with everything!

Women are judged more on appearance than men are. Thats why a lot of women like to shop for clothes, shoes, whatever.

I'm not a shoe person. I have two pairs for work (one black, one brown) and two pairs of casual shoes (one black, one brown). I seem to get by just fine with that.

Have you seen a woman in a mini skirt and a pair of Jimmy Choo 5-inch sandals?

If so, you'd never ask this again.
