Hi there, I created a flash animation using Flash MX at 12fps. I am wondering why the movement is so wiggly instead of smooth. Any suggestion how to make the movement smooth?Thank you in advance. Here is the URLhttp://www.safesearching.com/staarlet/beta/index.html

I think it might be your fps. If it's not very high, it makes stuff strobe and flicker. It might also be that they're images, so the stuttering is more noticable.

There's a tutorial about frame rates here:

I hope that helps!

When it comes to creating smooth animation in flash, there are something to keep in mind.
1.) The frame rate of a motion picture is 24 frames per second. Television uses 30 frames per second. These frame rates are what’s required to create convincing movement of still images.
2.) Flash gives you the option to choose a frame rate between .01 and 120 fps. Chances are, you will never need to go as high as 120 fps or as low as .01 fps.

The more frames you use to produce the animation in gradual progressions, the smoother it will be. By the way, your animation was fairly smooth.
