Why is it that some people when they buy a pack of cigarettes, they pound the pack with their hands hoping to pack the tobacco in more? the cigs, are made at the factory, they don't need more packing, this bugs the heck out of me everytime i see someone do this, why do you people do this?

from the factory to the store...the tobacco becomes loose, for a slower burning cigarette, ppl pack them again...

You don't smoke do you? You have to pack them more, otherwise they get bent up by the filter, end up breaking, and they don't burn well. So quit getting irritated because packing them will make them work much better than if you just open the pack.

some people do that but don't actually know why... anyway, people do pound the pack to compress the tobacco in order to lessen the air packs inside, thus making the cigarette more flavorful... still bugged?

it pushes the tobacco down making it easier to smoke. Unpacked smokes are harder to pull a drag off of. I take it you dont smoke.
