It is so hard to tell. I was 2-3 cm dilated for 3 months with each of my 3 pregnancies. But other women don't dilate until after their water breaks. But what it does mean, is that your labor will probably be shorter than for a woman that idn't efaced or dilated at all. You are starting out ahead. So be thankful for that. Good luck!

I'd say pretty close. You should tell your doctor about losing the mucus plug. Sometimes they want you in the hospital then, because you are at a slight risk of infection when that is gone. Having sex would be a bad idea at this time, because of risk of infection.
Don't DO anything to try to rush this. Your delivery will be much more pleasant if the baby is allowed to come when it is ready.

well me being a mother of four I know there are many different things that can be done to help your child be born like having sex. No it won't hurt the baby, walking, or moving furniture. As far as the mucus plug yeah that is another sign at least it was for me. Good luck and Congradulations

I heard this on the radio station a few years back when I was pregnant. If you cook a whole box of Macaroni and cheese (kraft) and follow the directions on the box. Then when you're finished cooking it, put in A-1 sauce as much as you can stand and eat the whole thing. Then you will go into labor the very next day.
Did I try this? Hell yea, and it worked for me, I was 6 days late and when I did this, my baby was born the next day!!

i lost my mucous plug almost 2 weeks before my 2nd child was born. but if you're that effaced and dilated you're probably going to go into labor in the next couple of days. walking really does do the trick since your cervix is already ripe. a really good fast paced long walk. worked on my third.

I would say you are very close. The best thing you can do is to keep eating healthy foods and drink fluids. Walk around but rest when you feel the need. Your body knows what to do so just listen to it. Peaceful, happy thoughts to you and the baby.

You are close, but its just a waiting game. In regards to causing labor come on, there are several wives tails out there. Eating spicy food like thai food worked for a couple of my friends and they swore by it. Good luck to you and take care!

Yes they are very big signs of labor. Your cervix is thined out and opening up. Walk a lot, but not by yourself. Some people like taking a dose of castor oil but it is very nasty and others say sex can help send you into labor. Good luck.
