I have noticed the same thing, and cannot figure it out. Maybe something in the climate up there makes you angry. I love metal, and haven't seen any other region of the world produce so much Metal.

because they support that kind of local scene over there...higher demand means higher supply! if metal was as popular over here, more bands would be trying to go for a metal sound instead of pop and punk.

Maybe it's something in the water. They do produce some great bands there.

Maybe because a lot of people are depressed/angst-ridden there, from the long winters with little sun.

Because the "black metal/death metal" thing is *huge* there, apparently. I've noticed that too.

because there it's cold and to be warm it's easier to get warm by beating the drum very hard. well I don't know.
