the president serves all the people, not just you or those who believe like you
after he is elected, he has to make decisions based on what he thinks is best for the country and the people in it
if we don't like it, we get a chance to change every four years
I like your idea about developing a tradition that the president stands officially for everyone else entering the room. It would be impossible to implement in most cases because people are going and coming all the time (there are lots of people and only one president).

We stand to show respect for the office of the president just as we stand for a judge to show respect for the judicial system. This particular president is totally arrogant and does not care what the country wants. That's why his ratings are below 40%. Vote Dem in Nov.

No, he isn't our servant. Senators, House Members, etc...could technically be considered our servants, but not the President.
You should learn a little more about how the Government works.

The President is for the people by the people, But he doesn't stand up for the people. He has a big head and i can't wait till he is out of office, He is one of the worst presidents i have ever seen, He should stand up for us.

Technically he isn't because the people don't elect the President of the United States.

Just because a person "serves" does not mean the person is a servant. A waiter in a restaurant serves you--so is he your servant?

do you mean in theory or in practice? sadly the position of president seems to have become little more than a figure head for the administration they bring in, and an opportunity to advance ones career...looks good on a job application doesn't it...
