Stereotyping comes after the people who fit them, hence the latter is worse than the former.

Not all stereotypes are bad. Just depends on which one, someone is trying to fit into. But if you are stereotyping someone or something; you are judging it before you have knowledge about it. So, Stereotyping is worse.

It depends on whether the people who fit the stereotype know it. If they do, that's fun. If they don't, then it's sad.
Same with people who stereotype. It is always sad when I hear people (or myself) make assumptions they're not aware of.
Example: I worked at a health food store, and two black women came in almost at the same time. (I am white, btw.) I don't think I am a bigot, always felt very liberal. But, I assumed they knew each other. Like I grouped them together only because they were black.
I guess I would have done the same to other ethnic groups.
Stupid!
At least try to know yourself.

Stereotypes aren't always negative, so I would have to say stereotyping in general.
