Why are Americans (and sometimes our allies) so blessed by God and so many other people are not, or why do they beleive they are? How does He choose who is the best, or is this just a load of you-know-what?

Do you realy think that America is blessed?
You are living on the costs of the rest of the world, you have made a state on the dead indian nations, you are using most of the world resources, and using it without any thought of humility,
see your cars, you do not use fuel sparingly, you use energy foolishly,
whatever you do good in the world it is not enough for the bad things that are made by your policys.
Sory but this is the truth,
you are not blessed by God, but have made a pact with the devil.
you do not give peace to the world you give them war
and another thing
blessed by God does not mean that you will live hapily everafter
in Holywood land or disneyland
but that you will work in God's work and suffer and fight and have a part of Glory in Gods plan.
I am not a religius zealot , but you will perhaps think about me thru my answers,
He gives all his people the weights that they can take, and blessings are no light things. They are hevy burdens .

God blesses everyone in the world not just the US. The people in the United states believe we are blessed because of all we have to be thankful for. I am one American who appreciates this country.

I don't understand. Are you suggesting that the fact that God may bless America means that He can't bless other nations as well? That seems to be an odd understanding of God.

I do believe that God has blessed America greatly over the years, but not to the exclusion of other nations and peoples.

Do you assume that all of America's success comes from purely supernatural sources? Perhaps there were decisions made early on about form of government that has also paid off.

First of all, the reference to God is not necessary since not everyone would agree that there is a God. Religious references should not be part of your question, that aside; I think America is rich only relative to your own life's surroundings. If money and greed is your way of living, any country would fit your description of 'blessed'. America became rich by greed and continues to be driven mainly by greed and power to control other countries. Unfortunately; if you are not part of the higher hiearchy, then you don't get to enjoy the 'blessing' that come to those that are driven by greed and deceit. Complex questions such as these, are hard to answer unless one takes time to analyze the many intricate influences of race, prejudice, religion, self-worth, honesty and human nature. Overall; relative to who you are; we are all 'blessed' to have what we have. That is not to say that we all are not guilty of wanting more; not NEEDING more.....big political families have existed on that premise. Money is power and those who have it will always search for ways to fight each other for more regardless of the cost of lifes in wars and poverty. Take the Arab countries that abound with riches, yet many of their own are living in poverty....not much different than here in America is it?.....take any other country where the top powerful group controls the money, same problem there. We as americans continue to be driven by who has the biggest car, house, boat electronic toys etc...we consider ourselves better that the rest of the world based on how much power and greed we have....sad but true!

Because Americans have such huge egos, and they think that God loves them because they're so rich and powerful. It's nothing more than a load of bull. Take, for example, Italy. They have a higher ratio of Christians than America, yet they are not as...loud about it, I guess. I don't know how to put it, but Americans just need to let go of their egos and stop saying "America is #1!" "Other countries are BENEATH us!"

Grrrr.....not everyone is like this, but many of my mother's Christian Republicans--even atheist Republicans.

America is NOT blessed THAT much more than other countries! Get over it!

Dio mio!

No one is blessing the US, its history made it this way. The US was huge with a ton of natural resources and a growing population to settle the land and european educators, scientists, generals, ect comming here and becomming Americans. this happened in many empires. So the Roman gods blessed Rome, the Mongolian gods blessed the mongol empire, the chinese gods blessed china and God blessed the various Muslim empires?

Let's see . . .

starting with the assumption that the reader believes in a good, omnipotent God . . .

God is Truth.

Nations that are aligned with truth receive God's blessings either as a gift of divine providence or through the operations of the universe.

As time proceeds, blessed nations forget that their greatness is driven by their goodness and begin to believe that their greatness is because of their own actions.

In doing so, those nations become mighty in the eyes of the world as they become spiritually empty.

Eventually those nations are brought low by their own hubris.

That has been the message of the prophets since Old Testament times.

It's a matter of patriotism, and opinion. And when you're in one of the most powerful nations on the planet, you determine who's blessing whom. Just kidding, actually, it's just left over from the Cold War era, when we needed to have a God to seperate us from the commies, and it stuck. I'm sure Allah blesses Islamic nations more than us, anyways.

What do you mean by "blessed?" What makes you think the US is a blessed country? We have the highest crime rate, poverty, unemployment numbers that are extremely high! What makes you think "God" himself would bless one country more than another??

You have to answer these questions within yourself.

First, ask yourself what God means to you.

Then, why you think wherever you're from isn't blessed, or others are...

How do you define "blessed?"

I wouldn't classify us a being blessed. The main difference is that we Americans work for what we get. Ever hear of that old saying that God helps those who help themselves?
