Using averagages probably isn't the best way to go. There's a lot of variation depending on what school you go to, what emphasis you take, what you want to do with your degree, and so forth. However, if you're an average MBA student at an average MBA school, working in an average part of the US, I'd say that it's between $50-80K. MBA's are getting back in vogue, so that could be going up. I read somewhere that companies are even paying up to $40K in signing bonuses.

An MBA should bring you $40-50K minimum nothing lower. I'm also assuming that you have 3-5 years work experience in addition to the advanced degree. However, depending on the company, you may see an offer of 50K or more. My suggestion is to research the company regardless of the salary offer. In many instances companies offering a higher salary may have a "bare bones" health care/benefits package giving them the ability to offer higher salaries.
Most companies want the experience plus the additional education. It tells them you are ambitious and success driven. And your resume will or should reflect both.

Depends on the school and depends on your experience. Business Week magazine has a good listing of schools and starting salary. On average, say someone with 5 yr experience working in a city, U$60,000 to U$80,000. If you have less experience, less money, more experience, more money. Big city, more money, small city, less money. Good school, more money, bad school, less money. You get the point.
