hmmm no idea..... I never pick the car! lol..

I think because the car is a luxury status symbol more than any of the other pieces.

You are the only one allowed to stylishly & comfortably "ride" around the board as opposed to riding a horse (exposed,manual)walking like the dog or performing manual labor (as in lower social status) -rolling a wheel barrel, ironing, sewing with thimble.

Of course there is the investor's hat , the money grubbing money bag and the negotiator's battle canon - none of which say you're really enjoying your money as much as the car might imply.

The car puts you in the mind frame of superior socio-economic status before the game even begins.

I guess for the same reason that the dog and the horse are equally wanted, they seem to symbolize moving ahead at a fast pace. Like who wants to be a hat. LOL

I want the little Scotty dog. I never want the car. If I can't have the Scotty dog, I want the hat and Boardwalk and Park Place. With hotels... :}

It's the coolest piece on the board. I also liked the cowboy on the horse piece.

Happy Sabbath.

I think you mean Park and Boardwalk. They demand high rents and you as a player can bankrupt the other players faster than they can you.

Because the car is the cool piece, it seems to go "faster" or something.
