Questions such as "what should I have for dinner?" "what am I thinking right now?" and "who wants to give me a trillion dollars?" should be screened out. Or maybe there should be a category called "Silly Questions," just 'cause it's sometimes fun to ask and to read them. Maybe there should be a contest for the silliest question.

They probably don't screen them out because they're curious to see how people will answer them.

Don't you think some of them are a little surreal, along with some of the answers?

I totally agree with you. I don't want to be jerk and "report" them, but those questions are annoying to read unless you're just in the right mood for them. Having a category called "Silly questions" is a good idea, you should submit that to Yahoo!.

There is, its called 'report abuse'. You can report them for many things like 'chatting' or even under the 'other' catagory.
One of yahoos main methods of weeding out the crap is their reliance on people reporting abuse.
Alot of people think of this as "narking" but its simply a way of stopping these sort of questions as yahoo havent got the time or the amount of employees to do this to a better standard.

There would be, if you could logically define a "silly" question. Unfortunately, Yahoo does not have the time or resources to devote to weeding out the inane questions. The best thing we can do is ignore them.

Personally, I think they should have a "Yahoo morons" section where some of these people can go.

Oh, worse than the stupid questions: people who come on here to pick someone up. Ugh. There is this site called "Yahoo Personals." Use it! Jeesh.

Well, unfortunately, because this part of Yahoo is a free service, they cannot moderate/censor it.

If it became a paid service, then they could generate a Terms of Service (like AOL does) with what is expected and not expected in the community, and then ban the wasteful questions.

Until then, we just have to deal with it. *sighs*

Thank you! Someone agrees with me! Although, I am not sure I would use the word silly to describe them, but I totally agree with you.

If you're so annoyed, just report them. I think yahoo deletes them when they get complaints.

Do I look like Yahoo? Why don't you ask them?
