HP Pavilion zd7000 series. 17 inch screen.

I've always had good luck with HP machines unlike my experience with Dell laptops. Compaq's laptops are by far the worse machines I've ever come across in my time repairing them and yes, I know HP owns Compaq but I can tell you that Compaq is HP's cheap cousin from my experiences.

I actually own 2 HP desktops and 1 HP laptop and looking to by another laptop here by the end of the summer for my son.

Toshiba. I chose it because it was the only brand that offered all the features that I wanted at a reasonable price. Also, immediate gratification, because they carried the one I wanted at the Circuit City in town, so I could take it home the same day instead of having to wait for it to come in.

HP dv5000t just got it. It is a very good laptop and I would recommend it to anyone. It was either the HP or the Lenovo thinkpad.

I don't own one. I hate typing on laptop keyboard (and the little touchpads drive me nuts!). If I had to get one, I'd probably get a Sony Vaio or Toshiba though.

Sony Vaio... it's my wife's and that is what she wanted. I've had IBM Thinkpads for years which are the most solid business/travel computers on the face of the planet.

I own a Gateway not book. Gateway has the lowest rates or battery recalls due to overheating.
