Who lives in South? Where do you live? Do you like it?

Question

I live in central Kentucky in a small town of 10,000 and hate it! I've lived in other places throughout Kentucky that are better.

No offense to people from these places, but West Virginia, Virginia (above Richmond), Maryland, Delaware, or Missouri (above Sikeston and Springfield) aren't Southern. Kentucky is, more or less, a border state; we're not quite like the north, but not quite like the South.

BTW, I do like the South! I'm not crazy! (Never lived in Texas, but would love to live there.)

I'm from Memphis, Tennessee. I pretty much hate it here. Our weather sucks on a permanent basis all throughout the year and it's just a little bit too ghetto for me here too. When people pay more for their rims than their college education, you know you're not living around the most intelligent people in the world.

I guess you could say that Memphis is more like the Dirty South, which is what all the rappers in this town call it. I wouldn't mind living in a truly southern area where people sit on their front porches and are kind to their neighbors. That seems like a dream. I don't even know if that kind of place exists anymore...

I live in Southeast Missouri (I'm less than 45 minutes south of Sikeston) and I absolutely hate it. I would rather live somewhere with only one natural disaster to worry about. Instead, I get stuck in Tornado Alley and on the New Madrid faultline.

I live in Southeastern Louisiana. I'm not thrilled with it here by any mean, but I do like the South over all. I'd just rather live in another part of it than Louisiana. It's boring.

I live in South Texas. Its a border state, not quite Mexico, but not quite America. The Mexicans piss me off , but what the heck, its home.
