Many of the basic regions are extremely similar, with the left side for logical thinking and the right side for creative expression. However, i think a big possible difference is that of the limbic system. The limbic system is the part of the human brain that has a maximization of activity when a person has a mystical experience. It responds when:
1. The subject is appropriately stimulated.
2. The subject has a feeling of "oneness" with something else.
Neurologists have attempted to simulate a mystical experience by applying an electromagnetic force to the limbic system of humans. The people went into a sort of trance and they say they experienced God when the system was most active.
So, this perhaps explains a big difference between humans and chimpanzees: we can believe in God (or some type of supernatural force), while they can't. We perhaps have more neurological capabilities.
