i would start with the biggest cause of misery and danger - the super extreme injustice or theft of pay - we have pay from $1 to $1 billion a fortnight - that is, from a million times to 1000th of the average pay - that causes extreme violence - because money is vital for necessities like food and also millions of wants -
i would pursue getting laws to limit fortunes, as the founding fathers of america desired - if no one was overpaid, no one would be overpowerful, tyrannical, bossy, corrupt and evil - and if no one was underpaid, no one would be as super mad as they quite justifiably are
how mad would you be to be on 100th of your present income - multiply by 5 billion - that is how much violence will disappear with justice
1% get 90% of world income - they certainly dont do 90% of the work
to get these laws i would try to point out to people how much happier they would be with limited fortunes for limited contribution to world wealth by their work - with no overpay, no tyranny, no state terrorism - with no underpay, no misery of poverty and slavery making people fighting mad
if everyone who grasps this idea tells just two people, and everyone who hears about it tells just two people, everyone will hear about it in just 31 times the time to tell two people
and everyone already agrees that to get rid of the violence and the millions of problems it causes, we have to get rid of the injustice in pay, the theft of wealth - because everyone will very readily admit that if a govt took 90% of income off 90% of people and gave it to a few, that would cause giant violence and disorder - and undoing that would stop the violence, and nothing else would stop the violence - so everyone already agrees that it is the injustice over money we have to address
and 99% will be better paid! - there is enough income for every family in the world working average hard to get US$75,000 a year - plenty for everyone - and an end to most violence and troubles and poverty and tyranny
if you were taking over the rule of a land and you found that 1% had 90% of the wealth, although they of course were not doing 90% of the work, wouldnt you rearrange things so there was more justice, less violence? if you were taking over a business and you found that workers were being paid very unequal pay for equal work, you would straighten it out - so would anyone - so we already have a universal will to justice and peace, and the end of tyranny and slavery - so we just have to activate it by pointing out to people what they already know - and go and do it
limit fortunes, and spread the fortunes around everyone - thus getting rid of a lot of injustice, a lot of tyrannical power, a lot of violence, a lot of poverty, ignorance and disease
overpay and underpay makes violence, which escalates, and makes millions of offshoot problems, and is taking us to extinction - soon - we already have 60 times enough bombs to kill the planet dead - and injustice [theft] and violence it engenders still rising
the cost is limiting fortunes to US$2 million - who suffers? - no one can earn more than that [proof of this elsewhere] and it will reduce underpay and overpay, anger and tyranny
the work is spread, spread the pay
pay from a million times to 1000th the average is so super huper crazy-wrong -
pay justice is the nonnegotiable price of survival and happiness
we have the most extreme unliberty, inequality, and unfraternity [unfrriendliness] - what is wrong with us? - have we lost our senses?
what benefit can come from superoverpay and superunderpay? one person works one fortnight and we give him US$1000 million! - it is just unbelievable! - how can we be so mad?
if you took 100 people and gave them the same tools materials and knowledge to do various jobs - making shoes, houses, cars, etc - the range of productivity would not be great - there is no reason to believe bill gates would produce any more products than anyone else - and yet we pay him enough to buy a billion dollars of cars, shoes houses, etc for one fortnight's work - which wouldnt be so bad [although it would be completely mad] if it didnt mean that a million workers have to get paid nothing, or two million get paid halfpay - get half their pay stolen - so that bill gates can be super overpaid - and it wouldnt be so bad if it was just him getting super overpaid for no good reason, and a million doing the work and not getting paid [although that is very bad] but that theft causes giant violence of course
and it's even worse than that - because the violence escalates like a vendetta - you hurt me, i hurt you, so you hurt me again, back and forth forever - escalating - to extinction
so we superoverpay a few for no good reason [and it gives them super overpower, which devours freedom and democracy and human rights], which causes super underpay, which causes extreme misery for no good reason, which causes extreme anger - righteous anger - which buries the world in trouble and danger - and extinction - for what? what is the benefit for anyone?
fairpay satisfies all the big desires and almost all desires - so overpay can add very little pleasure - what are we doing it for? where is the benefit? the sufferings it causes are giant - where is the benefit in this super theft, super injustice, super violence?
so i think people can easily understand the big mistake we are making, and that we can very easily be much much happier - as much happier as if a govt stopped taking 90% of income off 90% of people -
we just have to all decide that we agree it is a good thing to do - and we all already agree - so how hard can it be? - just wake up and see what we are doing - how mad it is - how pointless -
so i would tell two people, and they would tell two people, 2,4,8,16,32,64,128,256,512,1024 - a thousand people in just 10 times the time it takes to tell two people - and each of those 1000 people would make a 1000 each in another 10 steps, and each of those million would make a 1000 in another 10 steps
everyone already agrees, so everyone will ge the idea quickly and readily, and see the enormous value of it, and that every family will be on US$75,000 if we stop having super overpay - so, soon everyone will be clear we want this change, the spreading of overfortunes around among everyone, to prevent extinction, violence, tyranny and poverty, and then there will be no barrier to getting the few laws needed -
what would stop people going for survival, happiness, a million fewer problems, more money for most, an end to tyranny, poverty, violence, war and crime? - if there was anything trying to stop you, i would fight it tooth and nail if i were you!

Your question is impossible to answer satisfactorily and objectively. The power you are referring to is vague and undefined. If limited to this physical world, all changes you would make would be temporary and the nature of things would re-take over sometime. If unlimited, and the powerful can even change the nature of things, then that would be another impossibility because you have to be God to do so - and God has chosen the status-quot which no creature whatsoever can change.

I wouldn't bother changing the world just the people in it. At the risk of sounding like a hippy I'd simply change people to be genetically programmed to like every person they see. None of that lovey-dovey brothers and sisters stuff just plain thinking everyone is alright, a descent sort etc. And I would extend this to animals etc I think the world would then probably be perfect

I would start by asking as many people as I could what they wanted to achieve in their life before they were gone. I would find the most important aspirations which were common to each group and help them find a way to realize these goals and aspirations.
Each of us needs to understand that the world does not revolve around us and that we are all a part of the overall system which allows us the pleasures and affluence we experience.
I believe that we will get what we want if we help enough people attain what they want.

Control greed and the battle is half won. Think about how many evils have greed as the root cause. The profit motive builds societies, greed and arrogance destroy them.
The other half would be population reduction. When are we going to quit glorifying women who have a dozen children, often without being able to provide for them?
Fix those and dozens of other problems will either go away or at least be manageable.

Ban religions. Religion has caused more wars, pain and suffering than any other invention. Any deserving god would not want to be worshipped.
Parents insist children avoid peer pressure yet religion is the biggest peer pressure out there.
Get the self confidence that comes for defining for yourself what "being a good person" is all about. You have a brain so use it wisely.

I do have the power to change the world, and it starts with me.
As Gandhi instructed, "Be the change you want to see in the world."
Live the difference you would make. Be the change. We are the world.

We all have the power to change the world. we must start with ourselves. become active in your community, vote, help those that need help. if you see someone standing in the rain, give them an umbrella. if you see someone hungry, feed them. if someone needs clothes, clothe them.
if each person began to practice these simple concepts, the world would be a better place

I would start with myself! I can only change what I have control of, and I know me trying to change the world would only leave me in worse shape.
Change starts with yourself!

catholic church, they seem to have everyone wrapped around lies and their followers hate everyone that disagrees with those lies, such as sunday being a holy day and saturday (the sabbath) is not holy, wait... isnt that breaking the forth commandment?? and further by making good christians celebrate pagan holidays such as Christmas, Easter, St. Valentine's Days... there is not ONE christian holiday on the calendar, so they should stop with their deceit. once this is accomplished the rest of the world will be more accepting of Christian society as we will no longer be hypocrits... hypocrits have no right to point fingers
