sound like you've got a second degree burn-you need to seek medical attention
since this happened at work you need to report it to your supervisor or human resources department-it's state law for them to cover your injuries.
do not apply butter or any type of lotion or oil to it-this will trap heat and leaves you liable for infection!!
the hospital or doctor's office will provide you with an ointment called silvadene-it's a zinc oxide based medication that will aide in the healing of the burn and also help prevent infection. anytime you have a burn that causes blisters or open sores to the skin-you need to seek medical treatment immediately.

Do NOT use butter or vaseline! Keep the area clean and dry and see a healthcare provider. They can prescribe a special treatment cream and antibiotics, if needed. You may also need a tetanus shot. This sounds like a rather serious burn. Butter and other ointments are old wives tales that will do much more harm than good (I am a clinical nurse specialist in Emergency Nursing)

Hi, you could use butter. Yes! butter that we spread on bread!
Do not go under running water unless you want to have blisters.
This suggestion was given by a nurse. She said she always keeps a tub of butter in the fridge for burns. And it works miracle.
Though I didn't have a chance to try it out yet.
Hopes it helps!
=)

If you are injured at work:
1. Tell your supervisor immediately.
2. Seek medical treatment if needed. Complete a first report of injury where you work and a medical report at your doctor’s office.
3. If medical treatment is not needed, file a written incident report with your supervisor describing what happened.
