I was wanting to boil my baby's bottles for extra cleanliness after washing. I was wondering how long do I let them boil for. Also, is it okay to boil plastic bottles? I use the ventaire and evenflow comfi bottles, which are plastic. I appreciate all answers, thanks.

try and make sure that the water covers the bottles...

use a big saucepan and dont overfill it...

you should boil the bottles for about 10 minutes and then allow to air dry on a clean kitchen cloth in a clean area of the kitchen...

once the bottles are dry, store them in clean container with a lid.

that should keep them sterile.

also, make sure that you rinse the bottles properly each time you use them. you can get sterilisation tablets that you put in water that you can put the bottles in once you have finished with them in between sterilisation.

IT IS ALWAYS BEST TO BOIL BOTTLES!!!!

Wash everything in hot soapy water and rinse well, then place all parts into a large pot of water and bring to a rolling boil for 5 minutes. CHeck the packaging on the hard plastic ventaire and comfi bottles and see if they are approved for sterilization.

It is fine to boil the bottles. Since you are washing AND boiling, you wouldn't need to do it for longer than 5 to 10 minutes. Congratulations on your new baby!

I use the Avent system to sterilize the bottles in the microwave. After washing them I put them in there for 4 minutes and its done!

no one does that anymore. my ex-husband is a nurse, he said hot, soapy water works best and to never boil nipples or the rings.
