I read the Da Vinci Code first and later Angels and Demons, and although I loved them both, I actually liked Angels and Demons better. Also, everyone I know that has read both seem to like A&D a little better. Personally I think I liked A&D better because I loved the combination of science and religion throughout the book. I do think Angels and Demons would be a good movie, I just hope they stick a little more to the book if they do.

Angels and Demons is a good book - I just finished it not so long ago. Actually, it should be read before the Da Vinci Code since it introduces a certain important character who shall remain nameless. And, it was written before Code, but I read Code first as well as did many people. Angels and Demons wasn't gruesome or too descriptive. Don't believe everything people tell you!!

The Da Vinci Code is better than Angels and Demons, but that's a lot like saying chitlins are better than asparagus.

I have to say " Angels and Demons" is better.
"An ancient secret brotherhood.
A devastating new weapon of destruction.
An unthinkable target.
When world-renowned Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon is summoned to a Swiss research facility to analyze a mysterious symbol -- seared into the chest of a murdered physicist -- he discovers evidence of the unimaginable: the resurgence of an ancient secret brotherhood known as the Illuminati...the most powerful underground organization ever to walk the earth. The Illuminati has now surfaced to carry out the final phase of its legendary vendetta against its most hated enemy -- the Catholic Church.
Langdon's worst fears are confirmed on the eve of the Vatican's holy conclave, when a messenger of the Illuminati announces they have hidden an unstoppable time bomb at the very heart of Vatican City. With the countdown under way, Langdon jets to Rome to join forces with Vittoria Vetra, a beautiful and mysterious Italian scientist, to assist the Vatican in a desperate bid for survival.
Embarking on a frantic hunt through sealed crypts, dangerous catacombs, deserted cathedrals, and even the most secretive vault on earth, Langdon and Vetra follow a 400-year-old trail of ancient symbols that snakes across Rome toward the long-forgotten Illuminati lair...a clandestine location that contains the only hope for Vatican salvation.
An explosive international thriller, Angels & Demons careens from enlightening epiphanies to dark truths as the battle between science and religion turns to war..."

Angels and Demons is better than Da Vinci Code.
I suggest you read all of Dan Brown's books, because they are all a great read.
Deception Point deals with astronomy and biology and Digital Fortress deals with computer security.

Angels and Demons had a much more exciting and suspenseful ending. I was biting every nail I had. I even went to the hardware store to buy more nails to bite when I ran out of my own. Much more epic then DaVinci Code. And you should be able to suspend your belief about certain injuries near the end, since people have survived similar events before.

both are a good quick easy read but I was very annoyed at the end part of Angels & Demons. I could not suspend my belief as to why a certain person is injured and not killed.
I do not want to spoil it for you so enjoy!
