I don't think anything in life is free--everything has a string attached, a price if you will. This is not necessarily a bad thing, its just recognizes that everything we do (even if it is just giving unconditional love to another) has a consequence. Nothing is free, not even freedom.
I also believe that everything happens for a reason which is why everything has a price or a consequence and everything happens for a reason because there is some overall plan that is being followed. Thus everything--good or bad has a value and a purpose. The plan this world follows is not knowable to us and anything happening to one individual does not point to that plan directly...the plan is followed by an aggregate of every entity's moment to moment experiences.
In short it is everything happening in totality that points to the plan being followed and therefore from our little vantage point as an only infitesimal part of the whole, we cannot know the whole that is evolving around us--we're just part of it.

Honor,respect and trust are earned. And that takes effort so those 3 cannot be free.
Free is when you don't have to pay for nothing or do nothing!

I think you are right .....But that was before 100-200 years......Today it is a really hard find someone who wish to be with you just because who you are inside.....Now is everything (not all thanks God) on sale......Modern technology is a little bit change people......But people change it anyway......Selfishness,grid,jealousy...... What was tell is in song : you have to get more and more.....
Maybe one day people realize what is wrong with all things you can buy.....Who is not for sale......Love,friendship,marriage,children's attention........

People pay if they are untrustworthy, disrespectful, dishonorable, etc. in one way or another. Being good is the best thing. You can always give in many ways and make the world better.
