Tests can be a valuable resource for children, especially at an early age. I would recommend starting them with a simple test that has few questions and are multiple choice (who doesn't love multiple choice)! If you make it fun and creative,(add a section to draw a picture of the number you are concentrating on that week, or a joke that incorporates the problem.)! The students will be more at ease, and able to enjoy the process throughout later quizzes.
Hope it helps!
