From what I have heard North Korea is trying to send long range missles to the cities of Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Kanas City, and so on, I cannot remember the rest of the names. There are seven missles, and they have all failed, but I would not like to count on the fact that they all failed, and start believeing that they will never be able to reach us. The seven missiles all landed in the Japan sea. What posseses someone to do so? Why? To get people killed? To show power? To start another world war? I ask this because if people are in danger, how can we stop this?

They are not deliberately trying to attack the United States. They were testing missles, to see if they work. Unfortunately, though, the missles are in range of the PACIFIC COAST. Major cities on lookout for these missles are Seattle, Portland, Bay Area, Los Angeles, and San Diego. So far, the missles havent been working. So why worry? It takes a long amount of time to make a missle, and the more they work on trying to get it to work, the more time the US government has time to issue an act stating that North Korea can't fire missles. Other countries support the US, so the process should be fast

HAhaha,

North Korea is scared. They want to be a world power and because of bad political strategy and a lack of a central "people-powered" government they feel threatened by other countries that do have a backbone stronger than that of one person.

Sadly wars will never cease, killings will never end. North Korea wasn't just trying to attack us they were also aimed at Japan, another strong country. The only way any ill feelings will come to a close is with more understanding of the North Korean situation and with the UN behind all those that wish to stop controversy.

Actually, I don't believe that they all failed and only one was a long range missile. That missile could have potentially reached well into the US with a light payload. With that restriction, chemical or bio would be a greater threat.

Why are they doing this? Who knows. There's not a lot of rationality when it comes to North Korea - why would the maintain an army with more than a million soldiers when most of the population is starving because they can't balance out their efforts toward food and arms production.

They sell arms internationally to raise money then they threaten other countries that won't give them food and energy. It could well be that this missile thing is simply a ploy for attention and freebies since that's what they were able to get from Clintion in the 1990's. Threaten to produce plutonium if they're not given nuclear reactors then go ahead and produce the plutonium with the reactors they're given for promising not to produce plutonium.

Personally, I think their leadership is insane. They're playing games with the most deadly things we know. Willing to threaten and terrorize in order to obtain financial rewards. Unfortunately, it has worked for them in the past so like little kids, they're going to do it again.

We're right in not talking to them unless the other countries in the region participate otherwise they'll just complain that they're not getting a fair deal from us. They need to be drawn out in public and forced to answer for their actions. China and Russia need to stop backing them behind the world's back. We'll gladly help them with the food and energy they need if they'll stop trying to build up and sell the arms that we're trying to remove from this world.

North Korea won't 'bomb' anybody. All they're doing is flexing their muscles to show that they can - and will - defend themselves against the newest 'evil empire' on Earth - the United States of America. Like Pakistan, India, Iran, and other countries who now have "the bomb", it's a defense mechanism. "You might be the bully on the block, but I'll fight back with anything and everything I have if you try to conquer me."

The problem is that as all these countries develop their own weapons of mass destruction, the world becomes more vulnerable to an irresponsible or accidental attack, which could blow up the planet.

The U.S.A. seems to have this pompous-*** attitude that IT is the ONLY country responsible enough to possess nuclear weapons of mass destruction. Well, most people who have to protect themselves against bullies won't see it that way.

Already untrusted world-wide, the U.S.A. would do well to voluntarily destroy its own stockpiles of nuclear weapons in an awesome demonstration of its desire for world peace and harmony. Yeah...like THAT'S ever going to happen while "cowboy" Bush is in office! The Cheney/Bush administration (that's deliberate; Cheney's the brains behind this incompetent administration) believes it can resolve anything with enough guns and ammo. Countries tired of being bullied will take any measures they deem necessary to defend themselves. -RKO-

I'm assuming they are still upset about us getting involved in the Korean War. They also probably see it as a show of power. After all, if you take out the U.S.A., who is going to honestly mess with you? Not only would the other countries be hesitant, but probably every Arabic and some non- Arabic countries would be thrilled. And why does any war start? Someone gets mad at someone else or wants something the other person or country has.

they don't. they just want to frighten us into dumping more cash into their backward and inhumane system of state control. after the ussr withrew its support from the brurtal regime, it throws little fits from time to time in order to extract more cash.

the best thing to do with North Korea is leave it the hell alone.

trust me, it would implode and fall to pieces just like the old Soviet Union. It is an unstable arrangement that is a gross distortion of human nature. Because of this, the north will fall.

Pure and simple economic means are all that are needed.

Political means (i.e., through violence or threats) are not required.

Countries and individuals want to bomb the US because the resent our life styles. They envy our opportunities, our wealth, our relative freedom. And we have to stop North Korea anyway we can. But the best idea is to prevent these kinds of things early on. By making allies, by giving aid to impoverished countries, by helping with education in other countries, we can prevent countries from hating us.

This leader from North Korea is a selfish human. His third world country is suffering anywhere from unemployment, poverty, hunger and the money that can be used to help those issues he's used it in trying to obtain Nuclear power. I am almost sure he's also trying to obtain world power, wacko!

Hey CF a lot of people bombed other countries. Read history books to find out why.

As to why Kim wants missiles. That's easy it's the threat factor. Kim is an I.D.10T.
