I like it to keep in touch with old high school and college friends. It's nice to be able to shoot them a message, see pictures of them, share pictures of myself and my family, and see how they're all doing. I think it's a great site personally.

It combines a lot of interesting features. It has blogs, videos like youtube and acts like a free Classmates site.
It gives the user contrl over who can read or respond to stuff.

none of these blogs are bad. what's bad is the way some people use them.
some schools block them to protect the students from sexual predators that would love to do them harm.
sooner or later your school will probably join the thousands of other schools that block these services.

No, its not. Just a lot of people use it to keep in touch. Its where every one is today.
