I was at my graduation and my principal which never really liked me. Made a comment that my mom and I really didn’t like. She made every one think that it took me a long time to graduate. Like I was suppose to graduate a long time ago. I felt really awkward and embarrassed after she did that. I already felt awkward knowing that I’m a different race from everyone else. Could a file a lawsuit on her for doing that?

You can, but I would consider it a frivolous one and a waste of time. If I was on a jury that found in your favor I might award you $1. You are way overly sensitive. My guess is that what the principal said was totally accurate. It has nothing to do with race. Did it in fact take you a long time to graduate? Many times you will be better off taking to heart what someone is trying to tell you rather than being offended. You won't get far in life with an attitude like that. He might have used better words or tone of voice but the above still stands. Get a life.

Stupidity, prejudice, and lack of consideration exist. Get used to it. Accept it, but try to refrain from it yourself. Trying to get revenge by any means is self-defeating, and a lawsuit is among the most defeating of all forms of revenge. Your interest in a lawsuit is really an admission that you feel powerless to resolve the issue on a personal basis... and that is your real problem. If you really want to resolve this insult, go tell your principal how stupid and insulting her comment was. Keep it civil, but make your point. Regardless of her response, you will feel better and empowered by the confrontation.

Why would you let an apparently insignificant person bother you. In the full scheme of life, that person is nothing but an insecure little parasite that you endured to make it to graduation. We have a joke about academia. The competition is so tough, because the stakes are so low.
Go on with your life, further your education, and know that this insecure little nothing taught you not to be that kind of person.

Doesn't sound serious enough for a lawsuit, the court would say it was a waste of time. Perhaps if the comment was harsh enough, but not likely.
Just chalk it up to a not nice comment from a not nice person.
People jump to lawsuits to quickly.

You could try and file a suit for defamation of character. You'll have enough witnesses too.

Consult an attorney. Most will provide a free evaluation of your potential case.

You can file a lawsuit over most anything. But chances are extremely high it won't get you anything except less money in your bank account.

I don't think so, but you can have some satisfaction knowing that she's an idiot! You'll meet alot of those in life, but you can't sue them for it.
