When i split with my ex of 6 years, ALL of our mutual friends stopped speaking to me because i was the one that admitted i had beeng seeing someone else.
It turns out that not only had he been seeing someone else for 18 months, all these so called 'friends' knew about it and used to go out with the 2 of them as if they were the couple while i stayed at home because it was yet another 'lads night out'.
He used to call me to say that his mate was ill so he was staying to make sure he was ok then spend the night with her and when i was working away one weekend he had her in OUR flat, OUR bed to 'keep him company', his parents went away and he was looking after their house and the dog (four legged one, not the other her!) so stayed there for the week and had her there with him too!! HIS PARENTS KNEW!!!!!
I might have been in the wrong too but at least i wasn;t disrespectful by doing things like that so yes, i agree with you . . .
exes can be absolute ba*ta*ds and still manage to be the good guy!!

I dont know that we are always considered the good guy.
Most ex-wives will be the first ones to go and tell all their friends about what a jerk their ex-husbands were.
I've seen both though....I've seen ex-husbands obsessed with the idea of punishing their ex-wife. I've also seen it the other way around..
Are you speaking from personal experience or just from what you have observed?

As someone who decided to end the marriage, I know what you mean. Apart from her family, other family and friends just aren't taking sides...and she wants them to. I can understand that.
Even our kids are ok about it, which is great but dopesn't make her feel any better.
I'm trying hard not to be a pig, but in some respects it would be better for her if I was.
I ended the marriage because I don't love her. That's actually harder to take than having someone else.

They aren't they always want other to think they are good guys, it is because they put up a good front for everyone else, but see you don't know the person really untill you have lived with them and others don't live with them, believe me their true colors will show. But they have to put on a front to win someone else then after a few months a yr the true them come out. Beleive me it always does.

By not starting the conflicts, just participating in them.
