The sign you're seeing is a £ sign. That's the pound sign, indicating British Pounds. You can type one yourself by holding down the Alt key and typing 0163 on the numeric keypad and then releasing the Alt key.
If you saw this sign: €, that is the Euro sign, the currency used in most of Europe, but not in the UK as of yet. The keystroke combo for that is Alt+0128
The £ and $ signs are placed in front of the amount and the € is usually placed AFTER the amount.
The exchange rate is about $1.83 to the £, so the price in US$ would be about $128.00.
The Euro is worth about $1.28 today.
A few British websites can ship to the US. Amazon.co.uk is one that I buy from sometimes. Those that do will take the VAT (similar to our sales tax, but normally built in to the price and not quoted separately) off the price which will cut the price by about 15%. You will have to pay international shipping charges and possibly US customs duties.
I checked out that site. They do ship to the US for £12.99 and they do take the VAT off the price.
If you buy from a foreign site, keep in mind that you will not get a warranty in most cases. Also keep in mind that some items designed for use outside the US will not work in the US.

That is the sign for Euros. Use a currency translator to calculate the price in dollars, which is usually about the same. If you order it with PayPal or another service like that, it will pay the right amount for you. (If you choose to buy the mp3 player) I recommend the iPod shuffle or nano.
