A female penguin is a penguin. Most people take any generic name as being male. Also the most famous personification of a penguin has been in the Batman universe and that character is male. Not to mention the association with tuxedos - btw, I would say the second most famous characterization is Tennessee Tuxedo, also a male.

Try giving us a clue, so far we know you are female.
A female penguin is called a 'penguin' just like a male 'penguin.

Maybe there are more blokes on here or something and that's why people think you are a guy. You know what would help - a picture! Perhaps you could get a picture of a penguin in a dress, make sure it's not a tartan dress though, because then they'll think you're a Scottish guy and it'd get even more confusing!

There was a story about Penguins not to long ago.
They were being gay with each-other, not enough females.
So now penguins are the new gay symbol...like rainbows.
