Do you think psychopaths are born the way they are, in which case their is no 'cure'?

Do you think it is to do with their upbringing, not enough love and attention or TOO much?

Do you think there is a 'cure'?

The psychopaths I am talking about are serial killers/murderers - ones who show no remorse for their wrong-doings, show no emotion, etc. Just interested in other people's views, thanks!

Children being mistreated, will grow up to mistreat others.
Most will never be able to recover from that, because they don't understand they have a problem.
Most people think that everyone is like they are themselves, so obviously to them there is no reason to change.
Thieves think all people are thieves, liars expect everyone to lie as well.
Ticklish people think everyone is ticklish.
There are of course people that steal to survive, as their nature makes it hard or impossible to survive in our society, because it is too different from what survival abilities they have.
Our present society is too new for us to have evolved to manage it well. This will eliminate those that can't handle it, and reward those that can. Which is how evolution, after all, works.

One theory is that psychopathic tendencies may be created by the parent (or guardian) punishing (or perhaps even rewarding) randomly, with no connection to actions taken on behalf of the child. The child never makes a connection between wrongful acts and punishment, and so never learns to control behavior in any sort of manner.

It all depends on how their brain is formed and how they are raised, because it could be Nature and Nurture or just Nurture. There really is no cure for a misshapen brain, or a troubled child, but to be heartless, or for a more clinical term remorseless they would have to be ignorant of murder being wrong.

I am quite sure that there is some mental injury or malfunction in the brain of serial killers and paedophiles, perverts, child molesters. These CAN be cured - the first by lethal injection and the others by castration.

Definetely nurture- most of the time anyway.
Hitler is an example.
Roald Dahl's Genesis and Catatrosphe sows Hitler as a child.
His father is tought to have killed his 3 chioldren before Adolf came along as he thought they were to inferior and weak- just like Hitler's thoughts on the Jews, etc.
But, to the doctor and mother's objections Alois Hitler did not kill his newborn, Adolf.

It's all about the wiring? The brain can be conditioned trained and abused. You can be dumb or to smart doesn't matter. It's when someone crosses that line and starts killing people, that we take them away.

If your toying with the idea of going psycho take up ecstasy and melt your evil brain..

Its a mixture of both its not one or the other but i would say it sways more to the nurture side as there are more crimes committed in poorer areas.

I think it is definitely a combination of both; but nurture, I believe has a lot to do with it. Otherwise, there would be no such thing as profiling.
