Israel already is a country. As for, should it continue as one, the answer is...yes.
Unfortunatly, most of the problems in the region come from cultural and religious differences. Israel has had war declared on them several times by their neighboring Arabic countries, and has found itself in the unwanted position of having territories they didn't ask for. Despite having been able to withdraw from some of these territories over the course of the past decades, there has been considerable strife between them and their neighbors. Despite this, however, peace is slowly coming to the region.
It should be noted that Israel is a nuclear power...they just have no plans on USING the nuclear weapons to force themselves on anyone, even though they are allies with the most powerful political states in the world.

Should *any* country be a country? And should any country that has been wiped off the map *not* be? If you are looking for fairness in the affairs of states then you are destined to be disappointed.

Absolutely not! Jews are nomads. If you want peace in the Middle East move Isreal to Montanna. Hell, were not using it.

Yes. There don't need to be all those different Arab countries anyway. They have plenty of land.

No.
There was no legal basis for establishing a "Jewish state" in the middle of Palestine.
