describe first visit to an acupuncturist - what do you wear?

The first visit is usually questions and history taking. My first visit I wore a dress, which wasn't the best. I usually wear loose pants so he can push them up to put needles in my legs, or pull them down a bit to put needles in my tummy, and FYI the needles don't hurt. The accupuncturist will introduce them slowly and shallow at first until you both know what you are comfortable with. I love accupuncture it has really helped me.

first visit they sometimes have you fill out a regular health history, other times just ask you questions... wear regular clothes, sometimes you put on a gown, other times not, depending on where they treat you. acupuncture/oriental medicine & acupuncture is not like western medicine in that just because your arm hurts, you may get acupuncture needles in your arm, but you may get them in your feet, your back and/or other places in your body to balance energy flow, not just in the place that hurts.
you cant really describe the sensation of a needle, just a quick momentary ache or a twinge, but then its gone in a split second.

Best to wear something casual. It also depends on the area that they will be treating. After having your consultation they will have to have easy access to the treatment area.

Maybe loose trousers that you can roll up, a loose top that you can lift up?

I have acupuncture on my knee and often took a pair of cotton shorts with me so that they could have proper access to the muscles and ligaments connected to the knees (thighs and calves).

just wear loose comfy clothes. The first visit is a long examine, they take you pulse in many different places, they look at your tongue etc

and no the needles don't hurt,
I've had them placed in the top of my head!
