Is the pain in the inguinal area....the crease where the leg joins the body? if it is, it maybe a hernia. What happens is that the muscle seperates and sometimes a loop of the bowel enters this loop. Sometimes there is a buldge...sometimes not..sometimes a hernia may occur when the muscle divide abouve the testicles...the reason a doctors asks you to cough as he feels the area above the testicles. Obviously squatting should be avoided as it causes further division of the muscle and may have been the cause of the hernia. Only a physician can judge by a physical examination. Surgery itself is simple and is much like patching an inner tube...we put it back together and is only slightly uncomfortable.

If you can describe the pain better, i.e. time of the day, whether after food, before food, before motion, after motion, whether pain is continuous, or in pulses, waves etc, then one can say whether it is hernai. Stomach pain is symptom and not a disease. Often pancreatic cysts can also give stomach pain.
If it is hernia, there are excellent medicines in ayurveda, which can correct the disorder, while modern science has only invasive surgery as the option. Surgery can make temporary relied , but disease continues to grow at the root.

If you run a lot you may have irrated something. Buy a pair of tighty whitey's and wear them for a week or so. Wear them to work out and during your normal day. I had the same issue and a friend suggested it. It worked for me. With that said, you may want to follow-up with your doctor to confirm it's not serious.
