Like the others have said, you've probably sent your e-mail over the internet to someone recently. Spammers have software that "picks" e-mails off the internet, then they start sending you all that garbage. You can start a new e-mail account, but sooner or later, the spammers will catch on to it (unfortunately). Best thing to do is get an anti-spam program as suggested. Also, NEVER try to unsubscribe to any spam e-mails. If you do, this just verifies to the spammer that your e-mail address is valid.

Now I get on here in the morning and I have 50 to 70 spam emails.WTF is up with that?

My computer guy told me that if you click on the link that says you want to unsubriscibe to the mail it lets them know that it is a valid email address and you can expect to receive more because your address will be sold over and over. Best defense is contact all of your contacts and inform them of your new address. It will happen again and you will need to change again. Should have at least six months of spam free service if your lucky.

i have always had two email accounts. keep one for friends and relatives only and the other for when you have to register with sites etc. You may still get the odd bit of spam in the private account but much less than the other

Sometimes, if you gave your email adress to a website, they sometimes can send you spam. So most of the time at the bottom of the email, it says something like, "Un-subsribe". It'll be a link to stop it. P.S. you could always make a new account!

Spammers often use a slightly different address for each mailing, which makes it difficult for blocks to work.
I too have noticed an increase in spam in my inbox lately.

What email are you using? They all have a spam button you can click when you highlight an email you want to specify as spam.

If you use Yahoo, then you need to adjust your settings. When you're in your mailbox, click on Options. Then click on Filters.
